I recently stumbled on a quant finance community on Twitter and was humbled. My first impression of people in this community was, “Damn, these people are geniuses.” After it washed off, I reflected: This is purely a product of unadulterated focus and commitment to learning hard stuff.
An example of screenshots flying around in the community.
To become a quant, you must have strong math/statistics foundations, forex and stock markets knowledge, computer science background, and programming knowledge. While many would say, you don’t need to know them all, the best in the field are masters of the things I mentioned. There’s no way you’d master these and not be successful in life; it’s just impossible (not career advice 😀).
My point is, follow the path that 99.99% of people would avoid if you want to change your life forever. In addition to getting paid well, you’d also get the admiration of your loved ones and connect with the top 1% of people who think like you.
